Yes it's a joke site (sportspickle.com) But you need to believe it to laugh at it Aaron Rodgers to Announce His Retirement Decision Within Weeks With Brett Favre out of the picture in Green Bay thanks to retirement, 2005 first round pick Aaron Rodgers says he is ready to takeover for the future Hall of Famer – and, with that, will begin contemplating his retirement immediately. “I have sat and watched and learned from Brett Favre for three years,” said Rodgers. “As the new leader of this team, I know that now is the time for me to decide whether or not I want to quit on the team before the season starts.” The 25-year-old Rodgers says he will likely make a decision on his future before the NFL draft in April, if not by the end of the month. “If Brett taught me anything, it was how to ponder retirement,” says Rodgers. “God knows he didn’t teach me much about decision-making or watching film. He was never much for any of that.” Packers head coach Mike McCarthy says he hopes to hear a decision from Rodgers soon, but will not push for it. “Aaron is still a young quarterback,” said McCarthy. “We have to be patient with him. There are going to be growing pains. Let’s not forget that he is replacing Brett Favre. Not everyone can ponder retirement like Brett.” Sources close to Rodgers say he is currently leaning toward retirement. “Aaron was very disappointed that the Packers didn’t sign Randy Moss,” says Tom Condon. “He told them that if they signed Moss, he could guarantee them at least two more years. But now everything is up in the air.” Rodgers himself says the decision will likely come down to whether or not he is mentally prepared for another season. “I just don’t know if I can do it mentally,” said Rodgers. “The last three years I’ve been able to sit around, doing nothing, picking my nose every day. Now I have to practice, watch film, read defenses? I don’t know. Sounds a bit difficult. I much preferred making money for doing absolutely nothing.”
