Nov 16 According to head coach Andy Reid, McNabb will be unavailable for Sunday's matchup with the New York Giants, due to the groin injury he suffered in Monday night's disappointing loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The Eagles' quarterback, who has been playing with a sports hernia all season, is scheduled to see a specialist on Thursday to determine the next course of action. Mike McMahon will step into the starting lineup in his absence.
Advice: McNabb needs surgery for the sports hernia, but he was hoping to wait until after the season. However, the procedure might be unavoidable at this point. Look for an update on his status in the coming days. In nine games this season, McNabb is 211 of 357 for 2,507 yards, 16 touchdowns and nine interceptions. He also has a rushing TD.
