Well this is certainly an Orwellian mood killer... techrepublic.com.com/2100-10548-5697111.htmlEssentially, it tells you that, in three years, you're going to have to get a redone Drivers License that contains, in all likeliness, an RFID tracking chip and means to read the card electronically. This, in of itself, is a little depressing (imagine being trackable anywhere in the world.) What the KILLER is, however, is that the Department of Homeland Security has some very BROAD options over these ID cards, and you're going to need one to do almost anything in 3-5 years (examples given include banking or using any gov't program whatsoever) This has me seriously considering a citizenship change if the Senate approves (because Bush already said he'd sign it.)
